Position Description:
Reporting to the Regional Director – Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, the Regional Information and Communication Officer will oversee the planning, development and management of all systems of information flow and communications in EADD Review and guide implementation of communication strategy for EADD at regional & country levelsv
• Assist the country programs to develop and implement a grant and external donor relations strategy Editor-in-Chief for EADD Newsletter – The Dairy News
• Coordinate donor and volunteer activities, including regular communications, visits, events, study tours etc Manage relations with media representatives and directing their interests to EADD successes in East Africa
• Train and keep EADD staff informed of dialogue techniques with media
• Coordinate EADD participation in local and international dairy events including conferences, workshops and seminars
• Document and share key success stories detailing the project contribution to specific change of lives in East Africa
Qualifications and Experience
• An advanced degree in Public Relations, Communications, Mass Communication, Development Studies or related field is required
• With four (4) years of relevant experience public relations, journalism, in a busy corporate or NGO environment
• The candidate must have a good understanding and sensitivity to issues associated with development; enterprise development and environment
